Methodology
How We Choose Games
Ludexora covers games with a free-to-play entry point, subject to platform and regional availability in Canada. Discontinued titles are retained only as archive entries. This page explains how we decide what to include and how we write about it.
Selection criteria
- The core game must be free to play without a purchase.
- It must be offered through an official store, launcher or publisher website.
- It should offer enough free content to be judged fairly.
What each review considers
- Gameplay quality: the central decisions, controls and how clearly a game communicates its systems.
- Accessibility and learning curve: available platforms, onboarding and the demands placed on a new player.
- Free-content value: what can be played without paying, including modes, campaigns or roster access.
- Replayability: variety across matches, builds, quests or seasonal content.
- Monetisation: purchases, subscriptions, random rewards and any stated progression or competitive advantages.
- Multiplayer: co-op, cross-play or competitive formats when relevant.
- Availability: official platform listings and service announcements, with uncertainty stated where current regional access is unclear.
How we describe games
Reviews draw on official game pages, store listings and publisher announcements. Descriptions are editorial summaries, not claims of hands-on testing. Features, regional availability and prices can change, so we link to official resources and flag details that need checking.
No scores
We give qualitative verdicts that describe who a game suits. Numbers suggest a precision that does not exist.
Monetisation
Every review separates free access from paid options and notes randomised rewards when identified. A cosmetic label alone is not treated as proof that spending can never affect progression or balance.
Availability
Games that shut down are labelled as discontinued and never promoted as playable. See the FAQ for more.
